Welcome from 18h with bread and soup
18.45-20.45h
On Tuesday 11 May Duende will be the host of the ‘Culture-drink’ network meeting Kralingen/Crooswijk, organised by culture-scout Hoda Hamdaoui. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit our building and will be given a guided tour of some of the studios. Drinks and soup will be served afterwards, and if the weather allows it, the garden doors will be opened.
The Historic-culture initiative ‘Jamin back in Crooswijk’ will be present, to share the memories of the Jamin-factory and Crooswijk in the old days. After the reception at Duende, the outdoor exhibition ‘Crooswijkse slaapkamers’ of Erika Blikman will be inaugurated. You are invited.
New member: Ronan Lane
From April 2010 Duende welcomes its new member Ronan Lane (IE).
Ronan Lane is an Irish born painter based in Rotterdam. He will share a studio with our former resident artist, photographer Lorenzo Casali.
Ronan Lane’s large scale oils are meticulously crafted abstractions that deal with the the transformation of reality into an associative reality, one loaded with inherent meanings. We find ourselves in a world where peoples understanding is biased through the sublimation of imperceptible messages that permeate every aspect of existence. His paintings deal with the transmission, and understanding of these codes.
